Gulf Shores 2009

We just got back from our yearly trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We had a great time spending 5 days on the beach. A lot of time was spent going in circles in the lazy river. We also went shopping, rode the ferris wheel, flew a kite on the beach, hunted shells and sand crabs and floated in the Gulf. Ben got to go on his first salt water dive. It was an experience he will never forget as he met one of the largest sharks in the world, a whale shark. He grabbed the dorsel fin and got to ride for about 10 feet. He said it was unbelievable! Overall, it was a fun trip but not long enough. It's always hard to leave the laziness of a beach vacation.

Below are a few pictures of the trip. The first of the largest sand crab we have ever seen....and Ben caught it. It was about 5" wide. Below that are a few beach pics.
